VA Claim Denied? Appeals Helper

Under the Appeals Modernization Act there are three ways to challenge a VA decision. Answer two questions to see which lane fits, and the deadline to act.

Private by design: runs entirely in your browser. Nothing is collected.

1. Do you have new and relevant evidence the VA has not seen?

For example a new diagnosis, a nexus letter, a private medical opinion, or buddy statements.

2. Do you want to explain your case to a judge at a hearing?

Deadline: you generally have one year from the date on your decision letter to choose one of these options and keep your effective date. After a year you can usually still file a Supplemental Claim with new evidence, but you may lose back pay. A free, accredited Veterans Service Organization can file any of these at no cost.
